Command Attention With Military-Inspired Fashion

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Brass buttons, epaulettes and double-breasting scream military and you can find a variety of pieces inspired by this look. Celebrities like Isla Fisher, Mischa Barton, Beyonce, Victoria Beckham and Chloe Sevigny have been seen in military-inspired looks.

Since they can often encompass a lot military details without it looking overkill, jackets and coats are great for military styles. If you want a bold colored coat, the military details should be subtle. Fred Flare’s bright red coat has a flattering a-line cut and costs $72. I love the Express take on the military coat, shown below in heather gray and also available in pitch black, for $79.50. If those are above your price point, check out Arden B’s military zip up jacket

How To Wear Harem Pants

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Loose, baggy, eighties style pants have made a comeback and don’t appear to be going away just yet. They have been seen on stars like Sienna Miller, Diane Kruger and Rihanna. But how do you wear this style without looking like MC Hammer? When in doubt, copy the model! I’ve found a few pairs of harem pants, one for under $80 and two for under $30! Although the pair from Free People is more expensive, it has added benefit. It is convertible so you can wear it as a jumpsuit or pants! If you don’t to spend that much on this trend, try the pair from Victoria’s Secret available in 8 colors, including the black shown below, and on sale for $29.50. Another option is from Dillards on sale for $26.50 shown here in navy and also available black.

Lancome Effacernes Undereye Concealer

Lancome at ShopStyle

I love, love, love this product! I have always had a hard time disguising my undereye circles. I’ve tried creams and lotions, concealers and primers, but nothing really helped. I also wear contacts and need rewetting drops throughout the day…never a good thing for eye makeup! However, Lancome’s Effacernes Undereye Concealer is waterproof! It works best when applied with a brush. I’ve used my fingers when in a rush and the results are still decent. I have fairly pale skin, but I went with Clair II to avoid having my undereye brighter than everywhere else. At $27.50, it isn’t exactly a bargain. However, the little bottle lasts a LONG time! Get it direct from Lancome from now until October 23rd and recieve free shipping! You also get free samples of Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate and High Resolution Refill-3X Triple Action Renewal Anti-Wrinkle Cream!
