Jewel Tones For Fall

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Jewel tones look great with every skin tone and the colors are not likely to go out of style. So they are a worthwhile trend to spend some money on! Stars are embracing this trend in every way; from dresses and tops to shoes and handbags. The fabulous thing about a color trend is that you can follow it regardless of your budget. I’ve found a ton of great options for getting jewel tones into your closet and all are under $100!

Megan Fox and Eva Mendes have both worn amethyst dresses. Not all of us need red carpet worthy attire, but this dress from Nordstrom could be worn to work or out on a date. It’s on sale for $69.90 and is still available in every size! Kohl’s has an amethyst crocodile pattern handbag on sale for only $27.60! This blouse from Ann Taylor is a bit pricey at $75, but so cute! AND they have a Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer right now.

Neon and brights may not be for everyone, but there are a variety of ways to embrace this trend. Fergie, Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart have done it with their shoes, Rihanna, Brittany Spears and Angelina Jolie with their dresses and Eva Longoria Parker with her tops. Urban Outfitters

Revolve Clothing is selling a ruffled, bright yellow dress for $140. Or go for a red strapless at Fred Flare for $65 as seen on Lauren Conrad. Red isn’t color? It is also available in bright yellow and hot pink! Try a belted number in purple from Saks Fifth Avenue on sale for $125.90. These are great for accenting a small waist.

The Fringe Dress

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Fringe was at the forefront of the fashion shows and will probably be seen frequently on the fashion scene. The fringe dress is likely to be a growing trend. Hillary Duff, Kourtney Kardashian, Juliette Lewis and Eva Longoria Parker have been seen in this style.

You can go all out fringe or get a dress that uses it as an accent. If I were tall and slender, I would jump at the chance to wear the first dress featured below, which is designed by Rose and available on Revolve Clothing’s website. Even better, it is currently on sale for $101 (over 300 dollars off)! Another option is the layered fringe dress from edressme.com that comes in several colors, including the white shown below. Pink Mascara has a tank dress with black and silver fringe along the top on sale for $173.90.
