How To Wear Tulip Skirts

Celebrities have been wearing tulip skirts for a while now and they will continue to be popular through fall. They have been seen most recently on Lo Bosworth, Diane Kruger and Isla Fisher. This style is very flattering for those with wide hips or a larger mid-section. The best tops to wear with this style are form fitting and tucked in or cropped. It is best to wear these with heels or flats depending on how casual the skirt is. To make them cold-weather friendly, you can pair them with tights. I’ve found a few tulip skirt options for under $60.

Topshop sells a classy pelmet skirt with a tulip shape for $55. American Apparel sells a micro-fiber tulip skirt in 8 different colors, including the burgundy shown below. Or go bold with Scottish plaid sold at Forever 21 for only $14.80!

Fall Into Fashion

It’s almost a new season and a new opportunity to shop! Fall trends abound in shoes, clothing and accessories. Shoes like multi-strap shoes, oxfords and over-the-knee boots are likely to be popular this fall. This may make some cringe, but the 80’s are back and remaining through fall. If multi-strap shoes intrigue you, there are many styles to choose from. Check out these options I’ve found for under $180. I adore Steve Madden and the shoes below are no exception! They come in purple (shown below), black and grey suede. Or go for a boot with a twist from Jeffrey Campbell. Aldo makes a great shoe and they have these white strappy sandals on sale for $69.98.

Neon and brights may not be for everyone, but there are a variety of ways to embrace this trend. Fergie, Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart have done it with their shoes, Rihanna, Brittany Spears and Angelina Jolie with their dresses and Eva Longoria Parker with her tops. Urban Outfitters

Revolve Clothing is selling a ruffled, bright yellow dress for $140. Or go for a red strapless at Fred Flare for $65 as seen on Lauren Conrad. Red isn’t color? It is also available in bright yellow and hot pink! Try a belted number in purple from Saks Fifth Avenue on sale for $125.90. These are great for accenting a small waist.
