I think a little black dress is probably the easiest outfit to put together. However, there are some ways to accessorize your LBD and make it feel new this holiday season. I’ve picked one basic LBD and put together outfits using that dress to give you some ideas of how you can change up the look from party to party. The dress is from Topshop for $100 and its shape is very flattering.

One option is actually provided by Topshop. They suggest ankle boots and a leather jacket with this dress. Taylor Swift embraced the leather jacket and LBD look at a Kings of Leon concert. I found this fun pair of ankle boots from Alloy for $46.90. It’s definitely difficult to find a leather jacket for under $100. This Silence & Noise one is reasonably priced at $128.

The Little Black Dress: A Holiday Must-Have

With all the parties and events that go on during the holidays, a versatile LBD is a great way to keep getting ready stress-free. You can probably find at least one occasion that every female celebrity has worn a little black dress. Jennifer Aniston continually bets on the LBD for events. Recently, we’ve seen Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, Gabrielle Union and Katie Holmes in their own little black dresses.

For a classic look, try one of these three dresses for $100 or less. The first is egg shaped shift dress that will be very flattering. It is from Topshop and is the most expensive at $100. Another option is a chiffon dress with rosettes from Ann Taylor Loft for $89.50. It is an online exclusive. White House|Black Market has a great sale on a dress with elbow length sleeves and a surplice bodice. Originally $150, it is now only $49.99.

One Shoulder Dresses

One shoulder dresses were on the runways in 2008 and are here to stay in 2009. They are a great way to show off some skin in different way…rather than the typical cleavage. Celebrities have been wearing these at premieres, the red carpet, or just out on the town. Rihanna, Lauren Conrad, Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore have all been seen wearing this style. Because this type of dress comes in so many styles, you are bound to find one that is flattering on you.

Sleeves: One shoulder dresses look flattering whether long, short or sleeveless. Pink Mascara has a great sleeveless dress on sale for $45.99. Shopbop.com has a long bell sleeve dress in several colors for $189 and a short flutter sleeve option for $194.
